Buhari inaugurates new warships, reviews presidential Naval fleet in Lagos

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday inaugurated two new warships and reviewed the naval fleet in Lagos.

Buhari also inaugurated gunboats and helicopters for the Nigerian Navy (NN).

The event was held at the Naval Dockyard Limited, Victoria Island.

Buhari was joined at the event by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, Auwal Gambo, chief of naval staff (CNS) and Bashir Magashi, minister of defence.

Speaking at the inauguration, the President said, the efficient use of ships by the Nigerian navy has significantly helped in the fight against crude oil theft, and piracy among other marine crimes.
