Gunmen attack Jandor convoy in Lagos, ‘kill three’
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor in Lagos State, Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), had his convoy attacked in the Surulere Local Government Area (LGA) of the city in the Coker neighborhood of Aguda.
The attackers shot at and destroyed some of the vehicles in Adediran’s convoy during the attack on Friday.
Before the attack, Jandor was on a political mission with a few party members and supporters.
Several people were hurt in the attack, and three people are said to have died.
In response, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the main opposition party, was charged with funding the attack by the Lagos PDP’s spokesman, Hakeem Amode.
As part of Jandor’s tour of the 245 wards in Lagos State, APC-sponsored thugs in Surulere local government of that city inflicted violence on individuals and groups of people in the area prior to the PDP gubernatorial candidate’s scheduled visits to the ward on Thursday and Friday.
The thugs went to the Baale of Ojuoluwa in the LGA’s Empire neighborhood to intimidate him into not receiving the entourage that was supposed to pay him a courtesy visit.
“Vehicular traffic was disrupted and the gates leading into the entire empire area were locked.
The statement from Amode reads, “In the same vein, the canopy and chairs set up at Iponri Housing Estate were violently destroyed by APC killer-thugs who were armed with dangerous weapons, including guns, and many of our members who were making the arrangements were wounded in the fracas.
