Idheze-Irri Community empowers indigenes on Digital Entrepreneurship

The Idheze Community in Isoko south local government area of delta state in partnership with the HETAVED Skills Academy Networks has flagged off digital entrepreneurship to empower its people on ICT, to enable them to be self reliance.

Addressing the participants on the 25th of June 2021 about the empowerment programme, the President General of Idheze Community Development Union Mr. Goddy Egene noted that, unemployment has become a major challenge in Nigeria with many students graduating from school without jobs due to economic hardship.

He reiterates that people are now compelled to be self employed by creating jobs for themselves, a situation that has been boosted by advent of information technology (ICT).

Mr. Egene further stated that smart phones has become sources of income to many people to many people, noting that its potentials is huge but remained unexplored because of lack of knowledge, but Idheze community is blessed with a son, who is a man of God, a United Nations recognized innovator, and author of over 50 books in the person of Dr. Amos Obi.

He also called on the administration of the Isoko South local government area chairman Hon. Victor Asasa to always remember Idheze community in the area of empowerment programmes and infrastructural development.

He therefore urged participants to be focus and dedicated throughout the training period, saying that in no distant future, those who are serious will have testimonies to give.

The CEO of HETAVED Academy Network and trainer of the digital empowerment programme Dr. Amos Obi said that the world is saying there is a new thing happening that Idheze community youths and women must key into it.

According to him with the Advent of digital entrepreneurship people are no more limited by the economic of their environment, stating people now transact and do businesses within the comfort of their bedroom with smart phone or laptop, he said.

He reiterated that digital entrepreneurship has been more profitable even with emergence of the convid19 pandemic, stressing that people thought covid-19 will finish the world but it brought more relevance of digital dimensions to everybody.

Dr. Obi noted that new media owners like Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos were busy making money during the pandemic saying that the opportunity is open to everyone in the world.

He also asserted that, “Most of our youths because of lack of understanding they see the context of the digital world as an opportunity to engage in internet fraud which is the abuse of the digital world.

To cure, stop internet fraud and tackle unemployment Dr. Obi said that all Idheze youths and women need to do is to understand the new order which is opportunity to the digital world entrepreneurship, adding that, they can be educated with several degrees like BSC and MSC by using the internet without stepping out of their home.

He thanked the President General of Idheze community for deeming it fit for the programme to be orgprogrammeanized, stating that the community youths and women are the first partakers of the programme.

He therefore urged the participants to take advantage of the programme that the community has agreed to the training to empower them.

Meanwhile the chairman of Isoko local government area Hon. Victor Asasa who was represented by the Secretary to the local government Mr. Vantus Ogbrogho said that the trainer of the digital empowerment programme Dr. Amos Obi has met with the local government area chairman and made proposal in respect of how we can better the life of the youths and women in Isoko South local government area through digital entrepreneurship.

Hon. Victor Asasa also promised to partner with HATAVED Academy Network in respect of the digital entrepreneurship and replicate what he is doing now on Idheze community and replicate it in all the communities of the local government area.

He noted that the only way to manage people who are idle especially the youths is to engage them positively, he however promised that the local government council will provide the need equipment like smart phone they can to ensure the success of the programme.
