Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, expresses his grave concerns regarding the current rapid growth in the patronage of cosmetic operations by Nigerian ladies. In a video posted to his Instagram page, the veteran actor questioned why young women are so preoccupied with boob and butt enlargement surgeries these days.
“Today, it is difficult to find a girl who is still what she is,” Chief Pete Edochie stated in an interview with Adakarl TV. They have false hair, false lashes, false boobs, and false bums; let’s be honest, I’m not sure what is still natural about them. Why must our girls be enamored with these things, I don’t know.” He further stated that he is aware that his remark may result in a tongue-lashing.
I’d like them to make fun of me and explain why they’re so obsessed with such things. I might be insulted, but I mean, I am used to it. Insult me, it does not mean anything to me. “Some girls now die when they try to operate and inflate their bottom. May the good Lord help us.”
The septuagenarian has already drawn backlash for statements he made on marriage. Edochie encouraged ladies who believe their husbands cheat to travel with condoms in their baggage in March. “If you suspect your husband leaves the house and says he’s going on tour and he’s going to have an affair outside, slip a package of condom into his luggage and tell him you packed his bag for him,” the actor said in the viral video. When he sees it, he’ll say to himself, “This woman has my best interests at heart.” If he intends to go off the rails, he will prepare himself.
“The problem is that you women aren’t creative; you want to be like white women who keep marrying, divorcing, and marrying again. It doesn’t work for us; it doesn’t sit well with us. No.”
