Winners chapel pastor amongst 9 pastors arrested for holding church service despite lockdown

A total of nine (9) Pastors have been arrested by the officers of the Bayelsa State Taskforce team, for holding church services despite the lockdown order imposed by the state Governor, Duoye Diri.

The Pastors were arrested on Sunday May 3, by the State Task Force team on COVID-19.

While briefing news men, Mr Freston Akpor, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Information, and also a member of the task force said; “the pastors are being detained at the police headquarters in the state and would be charged to court for alleged violation of the COVID-19 order.”

Pastor Pius B. James of Prophetic Grace Love Ministry, Opolo.
Pastor P. B. Barima of the Methodist Church, Obogoro.
Pastor Adaba Glory of Saint Paul Healing Church.
Pastor Chris Ezene of God’s Grace Salvation Ministry, Obogoro.
Pastor Tony Justice Samugba, New Covenant Tabernacle Ministry,Akenfa.
Pastor Daniel Owi, Winners Chapel, Obogoro.
Pastor Alfred Munemune of Halleluyah Deliverance Ministries International.
Pastor Sardauna Oguta, All for Christ Zion Church, Akenfa 3.

As at 4th May, Bayelsa state has 5 COVID-19 cases so far.
