The Joel-Onowakpo Thomas support group has donated food items worth millions of Naira to Isoko nation in response to COVID 19 pandemic lockdown to ameliorate the suffering of the vulnerable ones, the elderly ones and indigent families and those who survive on daily income.
The chairman of the Onowakpo support group, Pastor Silas Buowe, while presenting the food items to the executive chairmen of the Isoko south and North Local Government Areas, Hon.Malik Ikpokpo and Hon Emmanuel Egbabor who was ably represented by the SLG, respectively,had noted in a brief speech that “JOT”as the support group is fondly called by its admirers, felt there is need to assist and support the Isoko people in this period COVID 19 pandemic, stressing that there is no better time than this period of need by the people.
Responding on behalf of the two councils, the chairman of the Isoko south, Hon.Ikpokpo, he thanked and prayed God to bless Hon. Joel Onowakpo Thomas, the founder of the support group, noting that over 4,000 families will benefit from this gesture and equally used the medium to call on other good spirited public individuals across Isoko land to emulate Hon. Joel Onowakpo Thomas.
Items donated includes: 4,000 Kings size bags of rice, 4,000 bags of beans, including gallons of cooking oil, indonmie noodles and tissue papers.
Recall that, Hon. Joel Onowakpo contested the 2019 the general elections against Hon. Leo Ogor for the Isoko federal constituency under the platform of the APC.
