Isoko nation mourns an illustrious son as Chris Olakpe goes home

The Isoko nation has lost an illustrious son, late AIG Christian Akioja – Oghene Olakpe JP mni (Rtd) whose sad event occurred on 30 March 2020 after a brief illness.
The eldest son, Barr. Ovie Olakpe disclosed this during a condolence visit by the Idheze community led by its president general, Mr Godday Egene.
Barr. Ovie had described the death of his father as painful, as it was not expected now and noted that wide consultations are ongoing to ensure a befitting burial for their father

Mr Godday Egene, described the late Olakpe as a detribalised Nigerian, stressed that the news of Olakpe’s death came to them as a shock beyond comprehension as there was no kind of formal illness in view of the fact that some of them spoke to him on the phone a day to his demise.


However, Barr. Ovie Olakpe used the medium to inform the public that burial date would be announced later, immediately consultations and burial arrangement are concluded, and stressed that, his father as a public figure who served the country well in his area of specialization as an accomplished police officer, including Lagos State will be given a burial he (Olakpe) merited.

Late AIG Christian Akioja – Oghene Olakpe was police commissioner, Bayelsa police command, plateau state police command, Commandant, police college Kano, commissioner, bomb disposal unit Lagos and rose to the rank of AIG before retirement in 2014, and after his retirement he was appointed as the CEO of LASTMA in 2015 and stayed till 2019. He hails from Idheze community in Isoko south local government area of Delta State, Nigeria
