Prince Deacon Godwin Ogorugba has been returned unopposed as Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State with a charged on the Party Executives at the Local Government and Ward level to work harmoniously with the Leaders, Ward excos and party faithfuls in order for the party to win overwhelmingly in future elections.
The Chairman, Prince Deacon Godwin Ogorugba who was returned unopposed for second term alongside his Vice, Mr Aso Oghenero among other executive members were inaugurated at the Pavilion Isoko North Council Secretariat and had in attendance, the Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representative, Rt. Hon Leo Ogor, the Majority Leader, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Barr. Tim Owhefere, Isoko North Council Chairman, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor among other party Leaders and party faithfuls.
While inaugurating the newly elected Prince Ogorugba led executive, the PDP State returning officer for Isoko North, Mr Appearance Esiso, commended Isoko North PDP faithfuls for their large turnout for the Congress and inauguration and their level of maturity displayed during the conduct of the Congress and their compliance with the party guidelines for the Congress, stressing that, “The large turn out of party faithfuls shows that, Isoko North is a home of PDP.”
In his remark, the Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Tim Owhefere, called on the leaders, past LGA and Ward excos to bury all grievances for Unity to thrive.
According to him; “My little advice to this present LGA executives is to emulate the previous executives. Ensure you work in your various Wards in order to deliver all PDP candidates in future elections. And to the previous executives who could not make it to this present executives, we are at the process of compiling your names for either appointment or empowerment. You will be handsomely rewarded by leaders of our great party and the State government.”
On his part, the Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representative, Rt. Hon. Leo Ogor, expressed gratitude to God for preserving his life till date, just as he seek for the forgiveness of those he has offended, noting that, “I have forgiven all those who offended me and I appealed to all those I have offended in one way or the other to forgive me.”
In his acceptance, the Prince Deacon Godwin Ogorugba, commended all the party leaders for the confidence reposed on him to give him second term chance to leader the party at the LGA level, adding that, “The time of quarrel is over, it is time to work together and seek God’s wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Party for the benefit of all.
