The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Isoko South recently held their congress at the Ekpre Otobo hall Oleh, Delta State to elects new executive to run the affairs of the party for the next 4 years as the Director General of Hope Alive Hon. Godspower Obaro was elected as the party chairman.
The election was monitored by the returning officer senior special assistant to the governor of Delta State and treasurer PDP Delta State, Mr. Tony Anukwu and INEC officials from the Isoko South local government area.
Those elected are; Hon. Godspower Obaro – Chairman, Mr. Alfred Igule – Deputy Chairman, Louis Agbidi Success – Secretary, Hon. Onoriode Amagada – Treasurer, Barr. Mrs Roseline Uwubiti – Financial Secretary, Aruno Owejutome – youth leader, Miss Afor Ogbalor – women leader, Abighe Kenny Okeoghene – publicity Secretary and Louis Imoto – Organizing Secretary amongst others.
Speaking immediately after his election Hon. Obaro Godspower said that he is so excited for the peaceful conduct of the congress by the PDP Isoko South.
According to him, “I can assure you that the newly elected LGA PDP executive in Isoko South will conduct all their activities by consulting the leaders and elders of the part in the local government area at all times.
He noted that the previous executive had performed excellently, noting that the newly executive will build on those structures and improved on them.
He also thank the Almighty God and the leaders of the party for a successful LGA congress in Isoko South.
Also speaking during the LGA congress in Isoko South, the chairman of Isoko South local government council Hon. Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo said that, “PDP in Isoko South is one family by the grace of God Almighty we have conducted the congress peacefully”
“We hope as the newly PDP LGA chairman has said that the previous executives did well, we are confident that this new executives will also do better than the previous one”
He therefore enjoin them not to heat up the system, noting that, the local government council election is coming up soon but he still have till January 2021 to leave office.
“Those who want to become chairman should calm down, they shouldn’t abuse people. We are confident that the newly elected LGA chairman will be able to guide the party in the right direction to make the party successful”
On his part, Bashorun Askia Ogieh said that he is glad that the LGA congress was conducted in a peaceful manner in Isoko South local government area, while supporting the earlier speaker position to calm down and not to heat up the system, stressing that he is aware that a lot of people have started showing interest in the coming local government election, despite the timetable is not out.
“I am joining voice with the local government council chairman Hon. Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo to allow this newly elected LGA executives to settle down and organize the party in a more peaceful manner.
Bashorun Ogieh also said that, power belongs to God, I can’t remember any of you knocking doors for this position in our various ward or LGA. We have affirmed that we have elected the new LGA executives to lead us for the next 4 years.
“That is to say when get to other government position we can adopt this approach the party can use their own internal mechanism to ensure that people emerge for the various positions with much strive and struggle”
Chief Dennis Etaluku on his part also stated that, “We have elected the new PDP LGA executives, we are expecting results progress so that PDP in Isoko South will be comparable to none, we should lead, we should win”
He therefore enjoin the new LGA executives to work and be active, noting that, we want an active executives not dormant executives, we have not chosen you to go and sleep, we have chosen you to work and restore the party and win all elections.
