Ekete secondary school holds 10th annual inter-house sport fiesta

…… as blue house emerge overall winner
• While Jigbale promised Prosper Jamb registration and sponsorship of first year academic

The Ekete Secondary School has held its 10th annual inter-house sport fiesta at the school sports ground in Udu LGA of Delta state while blue house emerged overall winner with white house and yellow house took 2nd and third position respectively. The inter-house sport competition held on the 5th March 2020 attracted dignitaries across the Local Government Area as students took part in different sporting exercise, such as March-Past, 100 to 400 meters race for both Junior and Senior Boys and girls, Lime and spoon race, sack race, old student race, parents race staff race and catching the Delta Line.

In his welcome address, the Principal of the school, Dr. Ojobor Tex Elohor, in his address averred that the school is 12 years old, stressing that this is the tenth annual inter-house sport of the great school, while noting that the school did not celebrate the first two years because that was when they were moving from the temporary site to the permanent site and during that period the school was joined with primary and secondary. Dr. Elohor, further stressed the reason while the school is still in line with Ministry of Education in terms of the sport is because of the love he has for sport, ‘I have been a sport man right from my local government area and I have represented Bendel State in school federation’, so sport is in my nature.

The Principal therefore, called on the state, local government agencies and parents to assist the school with sporting equipment’s, while noting that the school needs more building, security men to protect the school and the facilities in it while advising the students to keep it up, because hard-work yield positive result.
A son to Jigbale Family and also the founder of Jigbale Shedrack Foundation, Hon. Shedrack Jigbale, in his brief congratulatory message to Prosper Omonifare, as he won the 100 meter race in Yellow House, promised to enroll him in JAMB and sponsor his (Prosper) first year in Higher Institution.

Hon. Shedrack also stated: “my interest is to develop the communities in Udu with the little I can do”. An SSS3 student of Ekete Secondary School, Prosper Omonifare, in an interview after his congratulations, said, “I am speechless and I give God the glory, because this is not the first time, he is doing something like this for me. As at last year Hon. Shedrack Jigbale, enrolled my WAEC, in fact I can’t thank him enough and I pray that God should bless him in all that he does.”
While thanking the Principal along with the teachers of this great establishment for their kind gesture towards the students’. I also want to use this medium to encourage my fellow students, to keep up with what they are doing provided its good.

Aghawadoma, who was represented by the Head of Monitoring PPEB, Mr. Edah Anthony, CIE Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Udu L.G.A, Mrs. Bukola Sibete, who was represented by the E.O, Mrs. Iyede Brayila Joy
