The 13th and 15th of February 2020 will remain ever green in the hearts of Effurun-Otor kingdom people as the community witnessed the marriage of Princess Akpovona the daughter of HRM Dr. King Duku II (JP) in the Oroworere of Effurun-Otor Kingdom and Prince Ogheneovo the son of HRM Dr. Ejenavi Oharisi III (JP) the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom at the palace of the Ovoworere of Effurun-Otor Kingdom.
The marriage which was witnessed by different kings within and outside Delta State, including Chiefs from different communities, people from all works of life.
The couple were later prayed for by the father of the bride HRM Dr. King Duku II (JP) in the presence of other kings, Chiefs and both family members at the palace hall.
The church wedding which took place on 15th February, 2020 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Otovwodo Ughelli on the 15th of February, 2020, also witnessed a large turnout as monarchs and notable Chiefs from different kingdom were in attendance.
The officiating priest lauded praises on the couple and the parents for bringing the children up in the way of the Lord. He further said today is one of his happiest day in the ministry for the past 15 years, that he has not join princes and princess together in a holy matrimony but today the yoke has been broken.
The sermon of the day was taken from the book of Ephesians 5:21-33 dwelling on submissiveness and love to each other, as husband and wife.
The reception took place at KFT Hall along NNPC housing complex road off Airport Road, Warri.
In a chat with some selected journalists, HRM Dr. King Duku II (JP), the bride’s father used the medium to thank God for a successful marriage, that the marriage has brought more unity between the Effurun-Otor kingdom and Ughelli Kingdom, wishing the daughter and the husband a successful marriage life, urging them to remember that they are representing both kingdoms in everything they do, not just for themselves and their families but Effurun-Otor and Ughelli Kingdoms respectively while wishing them God’s blessings.

Notable Chiefs, Politicians, Businessmen/women and other personalities where also present at the Ceremonies. The officiating ministers during the wedding are Ven. Charles Badawusi, Ven. D. U. Esharedede and Ven. R. D. Omodoro. Isoko mirror was there to capture the events.
