Thief arrested as he comes back to crime scene to pick up his forgotten tools

21-year-old Tokunbo Lekan who allegedly broke into Anglican Church of Triumphant situated at Obadiah Craig Street, Falola in Ipaja zone of Lagos state to take from the congregation, has been captured by the Lagos State Police.

The presume who took a force creating set, electric wire, welding machine and different things worth about N400,000 from the congregation, said he was prepared as a repairman however relinquished the activity to focus on taking from houses of worship as it wasn’t taking care of his tabs.

Lekan who entered the church before sun-down and remained on till 2am before successfully taking the things he took, was grabbed when he came back to the congregation to pick his instruments he forgot .


After being cross examined at the police headquarters he was taken into custody, the suspect admitted to the wrongdoing and furthermore said that he goes to houses of worship to take properties.

The items he stored away at a close by mechanic village were recuperated and displayed as evidence after he was summoned under the watchful eye of an Ejigbo magistrate court on charges of robbery.

The suspect who argued not liable, was allowed bail of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. He will be remanded in jail till his bail conditions are reached.
