Oleh residents worry over ongoing road project

Residents of Oleh community are worried over the ongoing projects within the metropolis.
A cross section of the residents who spoke with Isoko Mirror during the week said the road project have remained uncompleted for over a year.

According to Chief Festus .K. Otovo, the project is ongoing. He said the project started June 2018.
“The bad state of the road has affected not only the motorcyclists and drivers but both pedestrians. The road is not smooth and so accidents are bound to happen. There are potholes everywhere. The road affects everybody”.

He however said the way forward is for the contractor to complete the project. He advised that the contractor should try to finish the road project as soon as possible.
A resident with the name withheld, said that the present state of the road has led to many accidents. Stressing that there is no free flow of traffic, because potholes all over the road.

“The road is not good for the community. One motorcyclist hit another while on the road. At times it leads to a fight between the motorcyclists”. He said.
Another resident by the name Samson Fejiro said it is because they have a bad government that is why nobody monitors the contractor.

“We Nigerians like corruption a lot. It is as a result of that that the road project have not been completed. We are not happy about the road”.
According to a worker at Unity Bank,Oleh, the bad state of the road have made them loose customers.
A motorcyclist, John Afor said the road has led to accidents. He therefore called on the government to please finish what they have started.
